Wilson Arts and The Singers Studio are looking forward to another amazing Annual Summer Community Musical in 2024 with Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and we are looking for participants of ALL AGES!
Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's classic, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, an international sensation that has been produced in 37 countries worldwide. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. The original Broadway production ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
Auditions for this year’s summer musical will be May 13 and 14 with two time slots each evening - 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Callbacks, if any, will be held May 15. Auditions will be held at the Wilson Arts Center, 204 Nash Street S. Use the link below to sign up for an audition time. There is also an option on the form to indicate if you are interested in being a part of the tech crew. You will also find a link below to audition music and a character list if you aren't sure what range a character needs to have.
Rehearsals are typically held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday evenings and Saturdays. Call times and how often you are called depends strongly on what role you are chosen to play. If chosen to be a part of the cast/crew, there is a $45 participation fee ($35 for Wilson Arts 2024 members), but need-based scholarships are available.
