About La Candela Flamenco:
La Candela (from Spanish, fire or flame) brings the essence of fiery flamenco, Latin jazz, and world music. La Candela Flamenco was founded and is now directed by dancer Ania "La Candela", Bartelmus, an internationally renowned flamenco dancer based in Atlanta, GA. Ania strives to share her fascination with the art of flamenco with audiences of all ages. She has appeared in venues in Poland, Switzerland, Spain, and US, including Spanish tablaos and theaters. Ania was a principal dancer for David Maldonado's
flamenco symphony tour "Noche de Pasion” and performed as a soloist with various flamenco
companies. As a director of La Candela Flamenco Ania collaborates with local and international
musicians to create flamenco arrangements and flamenco fusion pieces.

This performance  is funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the North Carolina Arts Council.
